2020 – A new decade of hope and possibility
Wow! What a way to end the year!
As we enter this new decade, let’s replace pessimism with optimism, and fear and trepidation with hope and possibility.
2019 brought some amazing highlights
But first, let’s review the year that was
1. 2 x retreats – Winter Winning Women and Palm Cove Women of Impact – yes we’re running them again in 2020. Dates are already set and a waitlist set up so you can be first cab off the rank with your booking. Why? Because the last three retreats have sold out. Don’t miss out.
2. Book #2 making #1 on Amazon – From Invisible to Invincible: a self-promotion handbook for executive women debuted on Amazon and made #1 in the careers section! WOOT! Thanks to my amazing clients and LinkedIn family who supported me in this.
Here’s what one reader had to say
“From Invisible to Invincible was full of so many invaluable tips and actions to take. I would have loved this information in my past but am looking forward to starting on some relevant action points while in the job search game. Please keep doing what you’re doing, so that other women will avoid falling into the invisibility pit like I did. Great book!” ~ Kylie, telco sector, Melbourne
3. 2 x new staff members – I’m now working with the amazing support of Kristen Ross and Maddie Trebilcock to ensure I stay focused on clients and out of the administrivia. Both women are talented, highly strategic in their career choices and fully engaged with my mission. I hope you get the opportunity to meet them soon. They join Davina Lee and Allan Antonio who have been providing ongoing social media and administration support for some time now. Thanks to the entire team for an absolutely Rockstar 2019.
FROM THE END OF AN ERA TO HOPE & POSSIBILITY
As 2019 ends, a new decade begins. In my mind, this new decade represents hope and possibility. Thanks to Former First Lady Michelle Obama for the reminder. It triggered me to remember in 2008, when former Australian PM (K. Rudd) hosted the Australia 2020 Summit. This was a very positive moment in time. I along with the rest of the country, was excited about the future and what it would bring, despite it being in the middle of the GFC.
Despite doom and gloom headlines designed to sell more news stories, I remain excited now.
2020 heralds a new decade. While recent data from the World Economic Forum says it will take another 100+ years for us to reach gender parity, I’m hopeful that with the right effort, right priorities and right intent we can find a way of working far smarter and shifting the dial far sooner.
I’m excited to enter into this new decade with a new book, new corporate programs and a new vision. I trust you are excited too.
And may 2020 be your best year yet!
