Do one thing every day that scares you
“Do one thing every day that scares you” ~ as Eleanor Roosevelt is widely quoted as saying
Stand up paddle boarding is my one thing today!
For some reason the itty bitty shitty committee had done a number in my head and made this seem unreasonable.
Science tells us that regularly doing something that scares you will help you
- Get out of your comfort zone
- Create new neurons in your brain (super important as you age)
- Feel good about yourself as you triumph over fear
- Become more productive (go figure!!)
- Become more resilient
- See things differently & boost creativity
Yet most of us are stuck in a rut of routine, the mundane and doing more of the same in what can feel like an ever draining and frustrating daily grind. We’re struggling to find “different” let alone “scary”.
If we always do what we’ve always done, we’ll always get what we’ve always got.
Ask yourself – are you aiming for inside your comfort zone or out there where the magic happens?
COMMENT – It’s easy on holidays, but back in the real world is where the rubber hits the road. So what can you do that’s out of your comfort zone today?
Aloha, See you back in Oz in a few days
